Wolseley has a personality all its own. It sits along the Assiniboine River just west of downtown, and it's known for towering elm canopies, older homes with front porches, and neighbours who actually know each other's names.
It has a reputation as Winnipeg's most bikeable, artsy neighbourhood, and that's well earned. You'll find indie cafés and bakeries along Westminster Avenue, community gardens, and a lot of people out walking or cycling. The river and Vimy Ridge Memorial Park are right there too.
Most homes were built in the early 1900s, so lots are smaller and houses are cozier than in the suburbs. In return, you get a lot of charm, a short commute, and homes that tend to sell fast. In mid-2026, Wolseley ranked near the top of the city for how quickly homes sold.
